Standards

Editorial policy

These are the rules our reporters and editors work to. They are public so readers can hold us to them.

Sourcing and verification

  • Factual claims are attributed to a named source, a public filing or on-chain data.
  • Anonymous sourcing is allowed only where there is a clear risk to the source, and the reason for anonymity is stated in the article.
  • Market figures cite their origin. Where data providers disagree, we state which figure we used and why.
  • Subjects of critical reporting are offered the chance to respond before publication.

Bylines and dates

Every article carries a named author with a biography, a publication timestamp and, where the story has been amended, an update timestamp. We do not backdate or silently re-date articles to make them appear fresh.

Advertising and sponsored content

Advertising has no influence on coverage. Any sponsored or paid material is clearly labeled as such, is written outside the newsroom, and is excluded from our news feeds and news sitemap.

Conflicts of interest

Staff must disclose holdings in digital assets to the editor and may not report on an asset in which they hold a material position. Disclosures relevant to a story appear at the foot of that story.

Use of artificial intelligence

Articles are written and edited by people. AI tools may be used for transcription, data processing or research assistance; they are never used to generate published copy without a human reporter verifying and rewriting it, and never to fabricate quotes or images presented as documentary.

No investment advice

Nothing we publish is investment, legal or tax advice. Coverage of an asset is not an endorsement of it.
