Three proving teams have published benchmarks this quarter showing substantial reductions in the cost of generating validity proofs, driven by circuit optimisation and by moving proving workloads onto dedicated accelerators.
The headline numbers are not directly comparable. Each team measured a different circuit on different hardware with different assumptions about amortisation across batches.
Where the results agree is direction: proving is becoming a commodity compute cost rather than a research problem, which changes the economics of validity-proved rollups and of proof-based bridging.
The centralisation question follows the hardware. If competitive proving requires specialised accelerators bought in volume, the proving market concentrates the same way mining did.
